Hi,I found the error code 633 from the above Event log. Based on my research, error code 633 indicates that the modem is in use or the port isn't configured. To troubleshoot this kind of issue, I would like to propose the following suggestions:1. As it is a broadband connection, the broadband device that the network connection attempted to use may not be opened. Make sure that the required hardware, such as a cable modem, is functioning properly. For more information about required hardware, contact your broadband service provider and obtain the latest driver.2. In safe mode, remove all the modem drivers, then restartthe computer and open Device Manager to scan for the new hardware.Best RegardsDale

Hi,I got the culprit for the above issue.. Windows 7 + AVG 9 Free Edition + My Broadband USB modem are not friendly 2 each other. It seams AVG 9 was blocking some ports.. even when i use Teamviever ... AVG was blocking that port.Current Solution:I uninstalled AVG 9.. running on windows defender .. everything works fine.. now me looking for other anti-virus pkg which will not behave like AVG 9..

mate... istarted having the same problem since avg 9 update. i use a 3 usb modem. I was in doubt but now after your confirmation i know its AVG9. i tried to use in different usb ports, sometimes it worked and sometimes it did not. the problem is also invista. i have 2 pc's...7 and vista. its a hit and miss everytime i connect to internet...... BYE BYE AVG9.....HELLO Microsoft security essentials!!!!

Thanks Dear. I will try this otherwise i was thinking too many things Seagate Hard disk failure, Cable issue, Overheating etc etc. Now i will try this. But by the way same windows 7 on my laptop with AVG 9 does not cause problem. Strange nah !
